The parliamentary majority calls on the Government to reintroduce restrictions and the obligation to wear protective masks in public areas so as to stop the spread of COVID-19. The requests were formulated by the Democratic Party, which said that the subject was discussed in the meeting of the government coalition that involved the Premier and the President, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the party.
The press release says the Democratic and Socialist MPs expressed their concern about the statistics concerning the new cases of COVID-19 and asked that the Government should reintroduce restrictive measures to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus. They also requested to more actively involve the police in the management of crowded areas in the city and to step up the testing process.
The MPs also underlined the necessity of working out a plan of action for overcoming the crisis by stopping the spread of the virus, protecting the population and stimulating the business community and different economic sectors. The parliamentary majority will provide assistance to the Cabinet in identifying solutions in the current context.
For his part, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the Government is attentively analyzing the situation in the country and will propose a series of measures to deal with the identified problems, but in a way that will not affect the business community and the economy. The financial-budgetary situation is gradually improved and the executive its doing its best to manage the public health and economic crises.
