The Government approved the ratification of the agreement on the Republic of Moldova’s participation in the EU cooperation program Fiscalis, IPN reports.
“The program Fiscalis will support cooperation with the tax administrations of the EU member states and will contribute to collecting taxes, fighting tax fraud and tax evasion through efficient information systems, exchange of good practices and joint actions to manage risks,” said Minister of Finance Veronica Sirețeanu.
The Republic of Moldova will benefit from assistance in improving the functioning of the domestic market, stimulating competiveness and fair competition. Also, together with the implementation of the agreement, a number of actions will be financed to strengthen the IT capacities by developing European electronic systems, etc.
The agreement on the Republic of Moldova’s participation in the EU program Fiscalis was signed on February 7 this year in Brussels. It envisions the provision of €269 million in financial support. The program will be implemented by the State Tax Service in 2023-2027.
