The executive endorsed the agreement on social protection between Moldova and Lithuania, which was signed in Chisinau on October 1, 2014, and will submit it to Parliament for ratification, IPN reports.
The document envisions the recognition of the periods during which social insurance was paid on the territory of both of the states and establishment of cooperation relations between the institutions that calculate and pay social welfare. Moldova signed similar agreements with ten states where Moldovans work, including Belgium.
In its May 13 meeting, the Government also approved a decision concerning the administrative arrangement for implementing the agreement on social security with Belgium, which was signed on April 12, 2012 and ratified by Moldova’s Parliament in 2013. The arrangement defines the mechanisms for paying social benefit and the documents that must be presented by beneficiaries for receiving welfare.
