Government allocates over 22m lei to CEC for remunerating electoral functionaries

The Government on July 14 approved the allocation of 22.468 million lei from the Government’s Reserve Fund for paying allowances to electoral functionaries, IPN reports.

According to acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi, the Government yesterday asked the Central Election Commission to confirm the sum needed to cover the costs. In the morning of July 14, the Government received an official response from the Commission, which confirmed the sum of 22.468 million lei. Consequently, the sum wasn’t modified.

Earlier, the Government allocated 70 million lei to the CEC for the organization and conduct of the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021.
