Government agencies' intervention in electoral process aims to manipulate elections PLDM
The defamation of the leaders of opposition parties, the instigation of a state of panic and psychosis are aimed at manipulating the outcomes of the upcoming parliamentary elections, and these phenomena are escalating as election day draws nearer, the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) said in a press statement, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
“The Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the Anticorruption Center, the CIS, are permanently harassing the opposition political parties and their members, and are fabricating politically-motivated accusations against them. The recent dirty fictions launched by the law enforcement bodies involving high-ranking officials and opposition party members are a relevant proof to that”, the statement reads.
The PLDM reminds the official persons directly involved in fabricating and disseminating these stories of the juridical as well as moral consequences of their actions and of the responsibility for violating the presumption of innocence, the right to freedom and security, the right to freedom of assembly, the right to elect and be elected. The PLDM urges the involved institutions to stick to the prescriptions of the law and the Constitution of the country in doing their job.
