People’s Movement “Spiritual Harmony” will implement in Chisinau the project “God’s Ten Commandments” which includes cutting 10 blocks of stone and installing them in the square of “Nasterea Domnului” Cathedral. The works could start at the beginning of the next year. According to the organizers, the commandments will be written in 15 languages, including European and of all ethnic groups living on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Next to each commandment a corresponding scene will be painted. The head of the “Spiritual Movement” Harmony and of the “Treiunial” Foundation, Boris Ciobanu, declared for Info-Prim Neo that this action is the first step of an ample project – “Peace to you Moldova, peace to you World”, aiming at “rehabilitating and promoting spiritual and cultural values of the people”. “We believe that the implementation of the project will heal the branch between different social groups, who are now religiously, nationally or territorially confronting”, Ciobanu said. At the first stage, organizers will announce an international contest, through diplomatic mission from Moldova and UN in order to identify the best architectural project. As well through embassies, foreign investments will be attracted, so that each interested country could financially contribute to cutting the sculptures in their language. In order to implement the project, “Spiritual Harmony” already obtained the approval of the Moldovan metropolitan church, of the Roman-Catholic Episcopal Office and of other religious denominations. The Ministry of Education and Youth, as well as the Chisinau Municipal Council agreed upon this issue, and CMC approved on August 3 to organize during December1-25, 2006 an international contest for the elaboration of sculptural compositions. The contest will be organized with the financial support of “Treunial” foundation. In the same period the municipal stations “Antena C” “Euro TV Chisinau” will organize financial resources collecting programs for implementing this project. In an appeal sent to the Parliament, “Treiunial” Foundation solicits to prohibit smoking, selling alcoholic drinks, patrolling, parking cars and transport’s circulation on the territory of the square. Ciobanu states that it is needed to draft a reconstruction plan for the whole square in order to create “a zone of moral-spiritual purity”.
