The cultural-scientific events, organized on the occasion of the XIV edition of Ghibu Days in Chisinau, started at the bust of Nicolae Iorga near the public library „Onisifor Ghibu” from the capital, paying homage to the Romanian historian and writer. During the event, the chairman of the Writers’ Union of Moldova, academician Mihai Cimpoi, welcomed the action of the library „Onisifor Ghibu” of bringing back to the first line Iorga’s personality and expressed his gratitude to the notorious writer. Cimpoi highlighted that Iorga was a great patriot, watched over Besarabians’ destinies and fixed them in his books and studies. The director of the „Onisifor Ghibu” library, Elena Vulpe, said that this year’s edition of Ghibu Days are organized under the sign of the work of the well-known scientist and Romanian patriot Nicolae Iorga, „his patriotism is a remarkable example, a model for next generations”. Cultural-scientific events, dedicated to Ghibu Days in Chisinau, continue in the Library „Onisifor Ghibu” with the opening of the symposium „Nicolae Iorga and Basarabia”, with a book launching and painting exhibitions.
