The leader of the Party “Building Europe at Home” (PACE) Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, who was put on the wanted list by the Sângerei Prosecutor’s Office, said that he didn’t avoid to appear before the investigation bodies and is now on the way home together with his family as he was on leave, IPN reports.

He noted he asked to replace the prosecutors with whom he is in a conflict of interest and who do not guarantee a fair trial, as he considers. He officially informed the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Sângerei Prosecutor’s Office that his lawyers are on leave.

“It is evident that the hurry with which this case is examined and the evident abuses that inflate the “brilliant green” case handled by order are aimed at distracting attention from the serious problems witnessed in the prosecution service and at cleaning the very tarnished image of this by delaying many other resonant cases that are being hushed up, such as the bank fraud, the Russian Laundromat, the following of judges and others,” Gheorghe Cavcaliuc posted on Facebook.

The PACE leader said that when his lawyers return from leave and the posteriors who initiated and “handle this case by order” are replaced, he will show up to defend his honor and dignity and to prove his innocence in a fair trial. If he does not find justice in the national courts, he will go to international institutions where, as he believes, the Republic of Moldova will most probably be convicted in a political case.

The PACE president Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, former deputy chief of the General Police Inspectorate, was put on the wanted list because he refused to appear before the investigation bodies. Also, four PACE members accused of hooliganism committed by two or more persons were indicted and will stand trial in the brilliant green case.
