Germany will offer technical assistance to implement law on public property administration and denationalisation
The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) of will provide technical assistance to the Public Property Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Trade in implementing the new law on the administration and denationalisation of public property.
Benedikt Thanner, GTZ privatisation programme manager for Moldova, Ukraine, Turkey and Iran, expressed readiness to sign a respective agreement at a meeting with Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon.
The technical assistance project will be implemented during a year and will have a budget of 500,000 euros. It is designed to adjust the present normative framework to the law on the administration and denationalisation of public property that came into force on June 29, 2007.
A number of legislative documents, including those on the local public administration, concession and others will be adjusted; the normative framework will be modified for the purpose of working out individual privatisation projects for the most important enterprises, selling the public property shares on the Stock Exchange, etc.
Among other objectives of the project are to restructure the companies that are close to insolvency, to work out flexible procedures for selling the small holdings of the state-owned enterprises etc.
