The 3 million cubic meters of natural gas will be delivered to the Transnistrian region on the basis of a loan agreement that is to be concluded by JSC Moldovagaz and LLC Tiraspoltransgaz. The agreement will be guaranteed by the European Union, IPN reports.

As the Commission for Emergency Situations decided, the volume of gas will be returned to Moldovagaz by Tiraspoltransgaz by March 1, 2025. In the absence of the possibility of returning it in physical form, the gas will be paid.

The authorities noted that the measure is necessary in order to maintain critical pressure in the pipes located on the left bank of the Nistru so that the distribution network remains functional.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean on Monday announced that the European Union is providing the Republic of Moldova with an immediate support package of €30 million "to overcome the effects of the crisis caused by Russia and Gazprom, following the refusal to deliver gas to the left bank of the Nistru."

The Transnistrian administration has not yet provided an answer to Chisinau's proposal.
