Natural gas consumption in February was 108.1 million cubic meters, or 15.1% more than in the same period of 2023. However, compared to January 2024, consumption dropped by 46.5 million cubic meters, or about 30.1%.
According to Moldovagaz, as of February 29, household consumers paid 90.6% of their bills, which is 2.1 points less compared to the same period last year. In the case of non-household consumers, the payment rate was 95.3%, which is 1.8 points more compared to the same period last year. Energy and heating producers paid 100% of their bills, which is 49.8 points more compared to the same period last year.
In February, 755 consumer units were disconnected from the natural gas distribution network, their debts being around 4 million lei. At the same time, the condition of preventive payment was applied to 335 consumers, as a consequence of the previous suspension of the supply of natural gas for failure to pay the equivalent value of the consumed natural gas.
The total level of payment of natural gas consumption for the volume supplied from the beginning of the current year to February 29 amounts to 95.1% and constitutes 2.425 billion lei, or 7.6 % higher compared to the same period last year.
