The amount of natural gas consumed until November 1, which was not included in the October gas bill for household users, will be determined by the distribution system operator and will be invoiced at the price applied until the end of October – 4,298 lei per 1,000 cubic meters of gas plus VAT of 8%, IPN reports, quoting a press release of Moldovagaz.
The Natural Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER) recently approved new rates for the delivery of natural gas by Moldovagaz. These will start to be applied on November 1, 2021.
According to Moldovagaz, the gas bill will take into account the meter readings up to the coming into force of the new gas rate or the average daily consumption determined by the system operator if the meter readings are absent.
Moldova in November pays US$450 per thousand cubic meters of gas to Russia’s gas giant Gazprom. Based on this price, NAER accepted the rate of 11.08 lei per cubic meter of gas, with VAT included, proposed by Moldovagaz. To help the citizens pay the bills, the Government will provide subsidies to residential users, depending on incomes and on the consumed amounts of gas.
