Two economic entities operating in Botanica district of Chisinau face heavy fines. The police found products with the expired pull date in several cafés that they administered, while near the cafés they discovered gaming machines camouflaged in shoe cleaning machines, IPN reports.
According to the Chisinau Police Division, administrative proceedings were instituted against the two economic entities. It was established that the shoe cleaning machines were in fact gaming machines. The faithful clients purchased tokens from cafés’ barmen and then played games of chance on the pretext of cleaning the shoes.
On shelves in the cafés, the police found food products with the expired pull date, financial resources not indicated in the accounting documents, 5,000 tokens for the gaming machines and draft documents.
It was estimated that the directors caused damage of about 1 million lei by avoiding paying annual taxes into the local and state budgets.
