Gagauzia started to prepare for its own wine festival that will take place in the center of Comrat town on November 3, sources in the organizational committee have told IPN.
The Gagauz wine festival Gagauz Şarabin Yortusu has been held on the first Sunday of November for seven years. This year, the event is marked by the embargo imposed by Russia on the imports of Moldovan wine. Despite the existing economic difficulties, the organizers hope that festival will be a successful one.
Traditionally, there will be staged winemakers’ contests and exhibitions of local producers, while representatives of the ethnic groups will present their customs. The visitors will be able to taste national dashes and different types of wine.
The National Wine Holiday is celebrated in Moldova on October 5 and 6.
