Future policemen to take lie detector tests
Persons who will be employed by the bodies of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the Center for Fighting Economic Felonies and Corruption, Information and Security Service, Prosecution and other force structures, or having access to secret information will be compulsory tested by detectors of simulated behavior (polygraphs).
The Parliament approved on Friday, July 14, in first reading the Law on applying this kind of tests.
It can be applied as well, by one’s consent, to voluntary tests during inquests, in labor investigations, while hiring employees etc. The results showing false information shall not be considered as ultimate evidence of its non-authenticity, the bill says.
According to the authors, applying polygraph tests will cut back cases when dishonest and corrupted persons are hired and promoted to high-level positions, who damage and discredit the image of the state.
Now this procedure is applied in over 60 states of the world.
