Fuel prices continue to decline, with the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) announcing another price reduction for the end of the week. The price of gasoline has dropped by 19 bani per liter, reaching 23.64 lei, while diesel now costs 20.61 lei, 16 bani less than in previous days, IPN reports.
According to ANRE, this downward trend is influenced by global market developments. Crude oil prices have fallen to their lowest level since December 2021, currently trading at around $69 per barrel.
At the same time, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its OPEC+ partners have decided to increase oil production starting in April, marking the first production hike since 2022.
These changes have led to significant price drops in international markets, where gasoline prices have decreased by 13%, while diesel prices have fallen by 10%. Additionally, the Moldovan leu's appreciation by 3% against the US dollar has contributed to fuel price adjustments in Moldova.
ANRE emphasizes that it will continue to monitor the global petroleum market and assures consumers that the current pricing mechanism remains transparent and fair.
