From August 19 to October 8, the bazaars from the capital city sold fruits and vegetables worth MDL 6.5 mln. Chief of Municipal Trade and Servicing Department, Vladimir Nirca, told a working meeting at the City Hall, that everybody was allowed to sell fruits and vegetables without paying fees for the stalls. Despite the season’s high prices, the sales were successful. Thus, the vendors of the fair sited in Rascani district sold 391 mln tonnes of goods worth MDL 1.262 mln, those from Centru district – 595 tonnes (1.421 mln), Botanica – 241 tonnes (1.809 mln). The smallest amount of vegetables and fruits was sold in Buiucani’s street fair. Preliminary estimations show an increase in sales by 92 tonnes of fruits and vegetables, valued at MDL 785 thousand, compared with last year.
