Free mathematics for 6000 gymnasium graduates. Pretesting – on February 27

The ministry of education and research announces free mathematics courses for 6,000 students in the ninth grade, which will be selected after the results of a nationwide pre-testing on February 27th, IPN reports.

The purpose of the campaign is to help students in the preparations for the math test at the graduation exam of the gymnasium.

The head of the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment, Lilia Ivanov, says that all students in the ninth grade will undergo a 120-minute test in mathematics. The results will be automatically centralized and will allow the identification of students who need additional training.

Selected students will attend free math sessions of 30-40 hours each. „These will be carried out in small groups, to ensure a personalized approach. Participants will benefit from collections of problems, worksheets and other teaching materials”, Lilia Ivanov mentions.

At the same time, the profile ministry, with the support of development partners, will conduct a campaign involving almost 600 students from the XI-th and XII-th grades, math enthusiasts, in preparation for exams.

„We want to give all students the chance to develop their mathematical skills and approach the exam with more confidence. This program is a national exercise that will help improve the quality of education and promote the real profile”, says Minister Dan Perciun.

As in previous years, middle school graduates will be able to attend two additional exam sessions, thus having three chances to take the exam.
