Free dental surgery for people with disabilities to be available starting June 1

Free dental surgery under general anesthesia for people with special needs, both children and adults, will be available in public inpatient institutions starting June 1. Health Minister Ala Nemerenco signed a resolution to this effect, marking a first for Moldova.

According to the Ministry of Health, the service will be provided for children at the Mother and Child Institute and Emilian Coțaga Hospital, and for adults at the Institute of Emergency Medicine. The institutions will be equipped with all the necessary resources for people with special needs to enjoy high quality medical care, the Ministry said.

Under the same resolution, dental specialists, anesthesiologists and resuscitators will be trained on the specifics of providing dental services under general anesthesia to people with special needs.
