The district emergencies divisions of Telenesti, Donduseni, Soroca, and Nisporeni will receive by a new firefighting vehicle donated by Scotland, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, overall the Scottish firefighters donated six vehicles and a set of extrication equipment. One vehicle remained in Chisinau, while another one went to Balti. The other four will get to districts.
The donation was made within a project initiated in 2009. A number of 18 firefighting vehicles were donated within it earlier.
Contacted by IPN, deputy head of the Soroca Emergencies Division Vladimir Pripishneac said they serve an area of about 50 km from the firefighting unit at a time when the area should be at most 20 km. The division intends to open two local units in the northern and southern settlements of the district. The donated vehicle will be used by one of these units.
