The Competition Council penalized four economic entities for exaggeratedly and simultaneously increasing the prices of electrical appliances. The decision was taken on March 6, IPN reports.

The cumulative fine of 5.3 million lei will be paid by the shop chains Maximum, Bomba, FoxMart, and Alina Electronic. The companies could not provide solid justification for the decision to simultaneously raise the prices of the household appliances they sell.

The fine is to be paid into the state budget within 60 days.
