Former MP Dudoglo founds party

Ex-MP of the Democratic Party Nicolai Dudoglo decided to create his own party. At the founding congress, where Dudoglo was elected chairman, he said that the Gagauz People's Party aims, first of all, to make sure that "Gagauzia obtains freedom," IPN reports.

In a post on Facebook, the former parliamentarian wrote that the documents for the party's registration are to be submitted this week.

In April 2023, Nicolai Dudoglo ran for the position of Bashkan of Gagauzia, accumulating 9% of the vote. In November the same year, Dudoglo wanted to become mayor of Comrat, but in the runoff vote was defeated by Sergei Anastasov.

According to data from the Public Services Agency, there are 83 officially registered political parties in the Republic of Moldova. The last party registered is that of the former Bashkan of Gagauzia Irina Vlah.
