Former judge Victoria Sanduța enters politics

Ex-judge Victoria Sanduța enters politics. On Sunday, she announced that she decided to join the team of the Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB) Party, led by Igor Munteanu, IPN reports.

"I join the CUB Party’s team in order to bring to politics what I have been waiting for too long: competence, courage and truth. After 15 years in the service of the law, fighting for the independence of the judiciary and refusing to remain silent in the face of injustice, I know what must be done so that Moldova has a free justice system that protects the citizens and penalizes the abuses of the law. I know what the Republic of Moldova needs – a professional, courageous, fair political class," Victoria Sanduța said at a press conference held together with CUB members.

According to Sanduța, Moldova deserves leaders who work for the people, not for personal interests. "I, together with the CUB team, am ready to be part of this change. It is time to build an educated, modern and prosperous society. I thank those who wanted to stop me as, without their efforts, today I would not have become a genuine opponent," said the former judge.

On Sunday, the National Political Conference of the CUB Party agreed the new Central Political Bureau. The party summed up the results for 2024 and set the objectives for the 2025 political year.

"We are represented in 17 districts, including Gagauzia and Chisinau municipality. We have well-established and promising organizations for young people, women and local elected officials. We have mayors and local councilors, who make daily efforts to keep people in their homes, with their families and children, with decent living conditions," said CUB leader Igor Munteanu.
