Ex-health minister Andrei Usatyi was arrested by officers of the National Anticorruption Center within a case of corruption concerning public procurement in the medical system. He will be under arrest for 72 hours. The director of the National Emergency Medicine Center Gheorghe Ciobanu was also arrested.

The information was confirmed for IPN by the National Anticorruption Center’s press officer Angela Cibotaru Starinschi. Searches were performed at the home of Andrei Usatyi.

Officers of the Center will today question a number of persons within this case of corruption that concerns the purchase of medical equipment and consumables.
