Foreign trade of Transnistria goes up 23.4%
The volume of exported and imported goods of the enterprises located in the breakaway region of Moldova, verified and concluded by the Customs Service of Moldova as of January 2007 constituted MDL 649.8 mln, including exports – 596.8 mln, and imports – 53.1 mln. The export transactions have increased by 23.4% compared with the similar period of 2006 (MDL 483.5 mln).
According to the data provided by the Ministry of Reintegration of Moldova, the volume of goods exported to the countries of the European Union increased by 19% in January 2007 due to the fact that the Moldovan Metallurgical Works resumed exports. The company has an export share of 63.6%. At the moment the plant exports 61.2% of its productions to the CIS member countries, 33.8% - in EU, 4.5% -in the Central and Eastern Europe, in other countries – 0.5%.
The exports of cotton fabrics amounted to MDL 9.7 mln (exports to Croatia, Italy, Germany, Russian Federation); bedclothes – MDL 28.1 mln (Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Russian Federation); finished articles made from imported materials (suits, coats, blouses, pants, skirts, shoes, boots) – MDL 54.3 mln (exported to – Italy, Germany, Belgium, Turkey, Romania, Russian Federation).
In January “Tiraspol Kvint” Spirits Factory perfumed two export transactions (cognacs, brandy, vodka ) to Ukraine and Israel – 21020 litres of alcohol (MDL 2.8 mln) which constitutes 0.5% compared with the total volume of exports.
In the first month of 2007, the Chamber of State Registration (CSR) of Moldova registered 8 companies from the Transnistrian region, including provisory registration with IDNO code – 5 companies (158 on the whole), and permanent registration – 3 companies (119).
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova issued 574 origin certificates for exports. Out of the 277 companies registered by CSR, only 25 asked the origin certificates January.
According to the data provided by the Ministry of Reintegration of Moldova, the Customs Service of Moldova issued 87 preferential origin certificates to 8 companies from the Transnitrian region in January. 2 companies which exported products to the countries of the European Union (“Aviv” Ltd and “Deniter” Ltd) in 2007 did not solicit origin certificates.
