Foreign Ministry prepares Premier's trip to Bucharest

The Foreign Ministry prepares the visit of Prime-Minister Zinaida Greceanai to Bucharest. Foreign Minister Andrei Stratan told media the Bucharest authorities were informed and he was waiting for their reply, Info-Prim Neo reports. Chisinau would like to sign bilateral documents in Bucharest, as they have been discussed for a long time, deputy premier Stratan said. He reiterated Moldova did not condition the signing of the Convention on minor frontier traffic with the signing of the Basic Treaty. The official regretted “some parties erroneously inform the civil society about the advantages of signing the respective convention.” Andrei Statan said that after the visit of the Romanian Foreign Minister to Chisinau, the Moldovan authorities hope for an impetus of the relations between the two states on multiple planes. Premier Zinaida Greceanai told a news conference on September 29 she hoped a series of beneficial projects for the development of the Moldo-Romanian relationships would be la launched shortly. The Prime-Minister said the sitting of the joint Moldo-Romanian commission was to take place in October. And, on November 28, her Romanian counterpart, Calin Popescu Tariceanu, will attend the summit of heads of governments of the member countries of the Central European Initiative in Chisinau. Greceanai said she hoped for a bilateral meeting with him.
