Foreign Ministries of Moldova and Russia sign 2008 Consultations Plan
Moldovan Foreign Minister Andrei Stratan and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov signed a 2008 Consultations Plan in Moscow, on May 29.
According to a communiqué by the Chisinau Foreign Ministry, quoted by Info-Prim Neo, the two foreign ministers tackled the entire scope of issued related to the Moldovan-Russian cooperation in different areas. The interlocutors have considered the possibility of holding some top-level meetings in the coming future. The first meeting of this kind of Presidents Vladimir Voronin and Dmitri Medvedev is scheduled to happen at the informal St.-Petersburg Summit of the Community of Independent States on June 6-7, the press release reads.
The two officials have exchanged opinions on the situation related to the settlement of the Transnistrian issue, pronouncing themselves for finding a viable solution by observing our country’s principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ministers have also underlined the growth of the commercial exchanges and the “constructive work of the Moldovan-Russian Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commission”.
