Foreign citizens with temporary residence permits in Moldova must pay the health insurance premium by March 31

Unemployed foreign citizens holding a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Moldova are required to pay the fixed-rate health insurance premium by March 31, IPN reports, citing the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM).

Tatiana Rotaru, coordinator at CNAM, explains that during the first three months of the year, foreign citizens benefit from the same discounts as Moldovan citizens. Depending on their category, they can pay a reduced amount, 60-90% lower than the full health insurance premium of 12,636 MDL.

Foreign citizens who hold a permanent residence permit but are not employed and do not belong to the government-insured categories are also required to obtain individual health insurance.
