Non-alterable food products will be collected in a number of supermarket chains in Chisinau, Cahul, Orhei and Edinet for charity during April 8-28. The products will be distributed to the mobile social eatery “Close to the Close Ones” or to lonely elderly persons accommodated at the parochial centers of the Bessarabia Metropolitan Church, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Social Mission “Diaconia”, which organizes the campaign, over 200 young volunteers will urge buyers to donate products for supporting those in need.
Lessons in the form of plays will be held in the education institutions of Chisinau, by which the students will be familiarized with the problems of solitary elderly persons and with possibilities of helping them.
