Aegean Airlines launches the Athens – Chisinau flight this November. The air company will operate two flights a week. The subject was discussed by President Maia Sandu with the Greek authorities during her visit to Athens, IPN reports. “We will be able to easier travel for tourism or business purposes, while the Moldovans who settled in the Hellenic Republic could travel home more often to see their families,” said President Sandu, being quoted in a press release.
The official noted that the relations between Moldova and Greece are very good and announced that an embassy of Greece will be opened in Chisinau in the near future. The states will also sign an agreement on the mutual recognition of driving licenses.
Maia Sandu said that Moldova already has a framework contract with the Greek gas operator DEPA on the purchase of natural gas and this helps the country diversify the energy sources and increase the country’s energy security. “We will continue to develop the Moldovan-Greek relations and also the relations with other European countries for the benefit of our citizens,” stated President Sandu.
