Five persons were taken to the Ungheni District Hospital in the morning of December 12 following an accident on the R1 Chisinau-Ungheni-Sculeni road, km 110. Two vehicles collided head-on when one of the drivers changed lanes to overtake a car.

Press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Sabina Cojusnean has told IPN that the driver who changed lanes was rushed to the Ungheni hospital in a serious condition. The other four persons involved in the accident were admitted to the same hospital, but they suffered injuries of medium gravity.
