Five children hurt in road accident, two in intensive care

Two children were admitted to the intensive care section, while another three were hospitalized with traumas after the school minibus in which they travelled overturned in Ungheni district. According to the spokeswoman for the General Police Inspectorate Diana Fetco, the minibus overturned when it collided with another unit of transport.

“The preliminary cause of the accident examined now by the police is that the freight minibus didn’t give way to the minibus that was transporting children on the main road. Thus, the two vehicles collided and overturned,” stated Diana Fetco.

Besides the five children hurt, three grownups also sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. “Two of the children are in a more serious state and are now in the intensive care section of the Ungheni District Hospital. The other victims suffered medium injuries and their lives are out of danger,” said the Hospital’s director Lidia Craciun.

A number of police teams travelled to the scene for investigations.
