Fish soup for lawmakers

A group of members of the Moldovan People’s Congress Monday brought a large tureen with fish soup to the Palace of the Republic for the lawmakers, Info-Prim Neo reports. The organization’s head Ruslan Popa said it was a method of protesting against the governance. “We demand that Parliament be dissolved and that the date of early elections be set. We are dissatisfied that the power is usurped as the head of state has not been yet elected. But this does not mean that those who come to power have the right to change the Constitution. We brought them fish soup as it contains much phosphor and facilitates the process of thinking. I think that owing to the fish, the MPs will become wiser and will work better,” he stated. The members of the group filled several plastic plates with soup and left them on the stairs of the Palace of the Republic. The lawmakers did not go out. One of the protesters said they will come to every sitting of Parliament to bring the lawmakers fish soup. “The soup that will not be eaten will remain for the MPs who will leave power,” he stated. The group left a resolution with their demands in the anteroom. The NGO Moldovan People’s Congress was registered in October 2010. According to Ruslan Popa, the organization has about 2,000 members.
