The Balti District Electoral Council No.2 registered the first six candidates for mayor of Balti in the local general elections of November 5, IPN reports.
The registered candidates are:
1. Sergiu Burlacu, of the Liberal Democratic Party
2. Vladimir Rusu, of the Party of Action and Solidary
3. Alexandru Gustoi, of the Communist Party
4. Ion Straciuc, of “We Build Europe at Home” Party
5. Maxim Moroșan, of the Party of Socialists
6. Aureliu Filipp, of the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova
To compete for the post of mayor, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova must be at least 23 and have at least general education. A person can run on behalf of a party, an electoral bloc or independently. The citizens can also run concomitantly for mayor and for local councilor, but not in several constituencies of the same level. October 6 is the last day for submissions.
