On the first competition day of the European Youth Olympic Festival held in Hungary’s Gyor, members of Moldova’s Olympic team competed in athletics, swimming and tennis, IPN reports.
In the 100 meter race, Alexei Culis failed to qualify for the final, achieving the result of 11.53 seconds.
In swimming, Alexandra Deinenko ranked 32nd in 200 meter butterfly with the result of 2:33:79, while Nichita Bortnicov finished 38th in 100 meter backstroke with 1:01:41.
In tennis, Renata Farima qualified for the next round after beating the representative of Greece.
On July 25, the competitions will involve swimmer Andrei Lupu (100m freestyle), judoka Adil Osmanov (55kg class), cyclists Eduard Gobjilp, Andrei Novicov, and Gheorghe Jugurt, athlete Cristian Ciornenchi (400m) and canoeists Ana Plamadeala, Andrei Suhovei and Cristina Grinico (500m).
