For the first time, Moldova is building a modern facility for processing animal by-products. The plant will operate in the city of Criuleni, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, this will be the country's first enterprise to process animal carcasses or parts that are not fit for human consumption into waste. The by-products will be treated using a pressure sterilization method, thus avoiding incineration.
The facility will be equipped with modern systems to reduce emissions of odorous pollutants, as well as advanced water and air treatment technologies, complying with international standards.
The plant is being constructed with the support of the Competitive Agriculture Project in Moldova, funded by the World Bank. The project's value exceeds 13 million euros.
