On the first day after the autumn vacation, the students of the Lyceum “Columna” situated in Buiucani district of Chisinau had to leave school earlier owing to a fire that broke out at an electricity distribution board in the institution’s hall, IPN reports.

The firefighters were called at 11:43am. According to the press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Alexandru Tutu, the fire was put out with an extinguisher and nobody was hurt.

As there was thick smoke, the students were evacuated from the lyceum. They could not continue the lessons as the electricity was off.

The fire was allegedly caused by a short circuit.
