Fiodor Ghelici called upon the authorities and employees of state institutions to hear and solve the problems experienced by the people. In a press conference hosted by IPN, Fiodor Ghelici said that employees of state institutions, instead of working for the citizens, work for their own benefit.
Fiodor Ghelici presents himself as ambassador and resident representative of the International Organization for Educational Development (IOED) in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, head of the Regional Headquarters in the Republic of Moldova for Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine. He is also the official representative of IOED at the UN in Geneva, a representative of the International Congress for Protecting the Rights and Freedom of Citizens, as well as a representative of the International Diplomatic Union in the Republic of Moldova.
According to Fiodor Ghelici, it seems that there is a big gap between the people and the government in Moldova. People knock on the door of the authorities, but to no avail, even if there are plenty of institutions that are supposed to solve their problems.
Exemplifying problems, Fiodor Ghelici said that Moldovans in Israel complain that they have to wait for half a year to get to the Embassy to be issued with a document. In another connection, he referred to a case of rape of a minor girl. Attending the conference, the girl’s mother said that the law enforcement agencies are trying to defend the aggressor, instead of siding with the victim.
Fiodor Ghelici ascertained that the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office “are the most criminal and corruptible subdivisions” in the country, even though they are created to defend the people, to make the people feel safe, to fight corruption.
According to Fiodor Ghelici, out of all crimes in Moldova, 70% are committed by officials holding positions of responsibility. The lack of culture and education is the biggest problem. There are also honest employees among prosecutors, police officers and judges, but most of them are involved in corruption schemes.
