Filat to become PM-designate today
Moldova's acting President Marian Lupu will sign today at 15:00 a decree to appoint Vlad Filat as Prime Minister-designate, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The decree will be signed at the Republic's Palace.
At its meeting on December 30, Parliament endorsed the proposal to designate the freshly-elected Speaker Marian Lupu as acting President of Moldova. On his subsequent proposal, Parliament decided at the same meeting to nominate Liberal-Democrat leader Vlad Filat for the post of Prime Minister.
Under the law, the Prime Minister has 15 days to propose a Cabinet lineup and solicit the Parliament's vote of confidence for the Government's program.
