Prime Minister Vlad Filat and his Russian counterpart Dmitri Medvedev have agreed, in a telephonic conversation, to start negotiations on an intergovernmental bilateral Agreement regarding collaboration in the energy field, reports Info-Prim Neo, quoting a communiqué from the Government. The Agreement will refer to the transit of natural gases, aspects that regard Energetic Package nr.3, Moldova’s debt for gas that has already been delivered, etc. Responsible for negotiations on Moldova’s behalf is Deputy Premier Valeriu Lazar, Minister of Economy, and from the Russian Federation – Minister of Energy Alexandr Novak. The two Premiers added bilateral relations to their agendas and noted methods of jumpstarting them. Additionally, they discussed topics related to investments, and agreed that there are possibilities for collaboration in this field as well. Another subject for discussion was previous talks on liberalizing the export of Moldovan wines to Russia. The parties agreed that the efforts started on this matter will continue until the project does not successfully finalize. Vlad Filat and Dmitri Medvedev also talked about migration issues. In this context, the two agreed on the need for an immediate Agreement between the Governments of Moldova and the Russian Federation for collaboration on labor force migration and the temporary activity of migrating workers on the territories of the two countries. Dmitri Medvedev invited Vlad Filat for an official visit to the Russian Federation, in September, during the Moldovan Days in Russia event. Vlad Filat accepted the invitation.
