Filat about Moldovanu’s accusations: He should have discussed it with Premier

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Moldovanu should have discussed the identified irregularity with the Premier first, Vlad Filat said, referring to Mihai Moldovanu’s accusations that Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi falsified a document according to which the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery was to be closed, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Premier Saturday said that the members of the Cabinet must take part in the implementation of reforms, not to act as observers, critics or commentators. “If Mister Moldovanu saw an irregularity, he should have discussed it with the Prime Minister first. This is not about the relations between two members of the Government, but about the image of the whole Cabinet. I can now say that things will be clarified by the next meeting of the Government,” said the Premier. According to Vlad Filat, what counts is the view on the reform in healthcare and the application of this view, no matter whether somebody likes it or not. “This case shows again what coalition government is. I will draw conclusions, but we will definitely continue to work and move on,” stated the Prime Minister. The health minister told the press that Mihai Moldovanu’s accusations are groundless as discussions on the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery had been held in the Government. Andrei Usatyi said the Institute will not be closed. The decision that was published in the Official Gazette is a technical one and the employees will not be discharged. Mihai Moldovanu accused Andrei Usatyi of forging documents and of planning to close the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in complicity with the State Chancellery, without consulting the Cabinet. According to him, the decision was published in the Official Gazette on January 4.
