A 48 year old man and his 18 year old son have drowned in the Nistru, near Telita village, Anenii Noi district. Their bodies are yet to be recovered, IPN reports.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergency Service, the two men haven't been seen since they went swimming last night, August 13. A team of divers was swiftly deployed, but the search had to be halted during the night and was resumed early in the morning. The divers are still looking, but the river's currents are a big obstacle.

Overall, since the beginning of the summer season, 32 people have died in the water, including 7 minors.
