The farmers’ protest in the central square of Chisinau goes on. The leaders of the protesting farmers hope to have a meeting with President Maia Sandu today, June 22, IPN reports.
The farmers have protested for several days in the Great National Assembly Square. They parked their tractors in front of the Government Building. They ask for support from the authorities so as to avoid insolvency. So far, they had discussions with the Premier and the minister of agriculture.
The protesting farmers demand that the Government should pay 3,000 lei subsidies per ha of grain corps of the first level at least, clear all the overdue subsidies, ban the import of grain and oilseeds from Ukraine, persuade the Giurgiulesti Port to export first Moldovan agricultural products and modify the VAT refunding procedure.
