Farmers can submit applications to the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) in order to benefit from subsidies in advance for investment projects related to land improvements, soil improvement and protection works, IPN reports, with reference to a press release issued by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The deadline for submissions is February 28.

The subsidies represent 80% of the value of the eligible project and will not exceed 800,000 lei. These will be granted for activities related to the prevention and reduction of soil erosion; chemical soil stabilization, preservation and enhancement of fertility of agricultural land.

The application for a subsidy in advance can be submitted to the AIPA local unit or service, in the area where the applicant makes the investment.

The payments will be made in two installments. The first installment, 70% of the subsidy’s value, will be paid after the beneficiary presents evidence of co-financing in a proportion of at least 20% of the value of the investment project. The second installment, 30% of the subsidy’s value, will be provided according to the disbursement request, when the investment object is made available for use and with the presentation of supporting documents.
