Fake holiday offers. Number of bank frauds on the rise

Police warn that bank scams have increased in number during the winter holidays. They formulated a series of recommendations to help the citizens avoid fraud, IPN reports.

In order not to fall into the trap of scammers, great caution is recommended in the case of suspicious messages. Citizens are asked never to respond to messages or emails asking for passwords, account numbers or PINs.

Before providing personal or banking details, it is important for users to ensure that they are talking to a genuine representative of the bank or another financial service.

It is also important to systematically check account activity and avoid offers that initially seem advantageous, or when scammers propose offers, such as large prizes, easy loans or significant discounts.

If someone has fallen into the trap of scammers, it is recommended to urgently call 112 and the bank.
