National beekeepers exhibited honey and other apicultural products at a
fair in central Chisinau. The visitors of the fair, which will be open
between August 19 and 21, can choose between honey, pollen, propolis,
queen milk and different infusions, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The pollen with queen milk is very useful for those with low hemoglobin
and diseases of the nervous system. Even the persons suffering from
diabetes can eat honey. I have kept bees for many years and have
permanent customers who like my products because they are tasty and
healthy. We earn our living from beekeeping,” said Anatolie Mantoptin.
Marina Ghervas, a resident of Hristici, Soroca, said the apicultural
products in Chisinau are more expensive than in districts. The residents
of Chisinau pay by up to 10 lei more for honey. “The prices at the fair
are lower. The beekeepers want to establish relations with the buyers so
that they become their customers,” she said.
According to Simion Istrati from Raciula, Calarasi, there were not many
buyers in the morning, when the fair opened, but there came persons who
visited the fair last year and liked the products. He said that it is
the sixth year he sells products at the fair and the buyers are
satisfied with their quality and prices.
The beekeepers brought May, linden tree and acacia honey. The prices
vary depending on the quality of the product. A jar of acacia honey
weighing 500 grams costs 65 lei, while of linden tree honey – 55 lei.
