External public and state guaranteed debts has increased during August by USD 620 thousand and constituted USD 793.43 mln, the information of the National Bank of Moldova shows. Although the state managed to perform reimbursements amounting to USD 6.32 mln in August from the main sum, the debts at other chapters allowed decreasing the total sum. The biggest contribution to increasing the debts was the accumulation of new arrears when paying interests amounting to USD 2.74 mln. As well in August, new sources amounting to USD 2.68 mln from the external credits were used. At the same time differences of the exchange rate generated by the depreciation of the US dollar compared with other currencies contributed to the increase of the external debt by USD 1.5 mln. NBM specifies that on August 31, the total stock of the arrears, including of those accumulated during the previous years amounted to USD 52.28 mln. The stock of the private foreign debt, which is not guaranteed by the state, inclusively the interest arrears, amount to USD 656.35 mln.
