The recipients of pensions with bank cards and deposit accounts at Banca de Economii (BEM), who didn’t manage to collect the money before September 1, can do it by going to the BEM. This refers to those who receive old-age pension, invalidity pension, state social allowance and successor’s pension.

Contacted by IPN, Ludmila Bectoras, deputy head of the Social Welfare Payment Division of the National House of Social Insurance, explained that if the pensioners have money left on the card or deposit account, they must go to Banca de Economii that must fulfill all its obligations towards clients if it is liquidated or reorganized.

Starting with September, all the social benefits are paid through Moldova’s Post Office or the providers chosen by the recipients. These can change the payment service provider whenever they want. The recipients can choose one of the nine banks, namely: Moldova-Agroindbank, Moldinconbank, Victoriabank, FinComBank, Eximbank, Energbank, EuroCreditBank, Comertbank, and Mobiasbank. The banks issue the card to which the social benefits are transferred free of charge.
