The experts of the Russian veterinary watchdog “Rospotrebnodzor” will at last arrive to Moldova late in February, director of Agroindustrial Agency “Moldova-Vin”, Valeriu Mironescu, told a news conference on Tuesday, February 13. A delegation of the Customs Service of the Russian Federation is expected in Chisinau on Wednesday February 14, while “Rospotrebnodzor” experts will arrive by the end of this month, Mironescu mentioned. As he states, this fact was agreed two weeks ago with the Russian officials within the sanitary authority of Russia. Experts are to examine on the scene information presented in the documents submitted two months ago to “Rospotrebnodzor”. “Any winemaking company willing to export wines in Russia must show its technical and technological capacity in order to be examined”, Mironescu said. Official from “Moldova-Vin” avoided offering the precise period when the Moldovan wines could return to the Russian market. Head of Federal Service “Rospotrebnadzor”, Ghenadi Oniscenko recently told that Russia drew up special terms for the access of Moldova on the Russian wine market. According to him, “special “discriminatory” terms will be in effect during the first stage of the resumption of exports. Each consignment will be closely inspected before being allowed to cross the border”, Onishcenko emphasised. At the same time, the head of “Rospotrebnadzor” mentioned that the suppliers from Moldova will be practically forced to regain the Russian market, which was cornered by wines from Latin America, Australia, Japan, etc. Russia banned the imports of wines and divins (cognac-like beverages) from Moldova in March 2006. In November, presidents Vladimir Voronin and Vladimir Putin reached an agreement in what concerns the resumption of wine export from Moldova.
