The leader of the Liberal Party (PL) Mihai Ghimpu should make concessions in the negotiations on the formation of a government coalition for unblocking the situation, the director of the European Institute for Political Studies in Moldova Viorel Cibotaru said in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.
According to the expert, the Liberal Party does not have the most favorable position to insist on conditions. “Mihai Ghimpu has the weakest and most vulnerable position,” stated Viorel Cibotaru.
He considers that the January 21 sitting of Parliament showed that the disagreements between the three pares are greater than it was believed and the Europeans can lose confidence in the Moldovan politicians. “Our politicians should take into consideration the geopolitical situation and the fact that a bloody war is taking place at a distance of 600 km from our country and it’s not the case to show one’s ambitions,” stated Cibotaru.
Journalist Vladimir Tesliuc considers the pro-European parties could have the same fate as the former Communist Party of the Soviet Union. “The Communist Party of the Soviet Union announced radical reforms within the ‘perestroika’, but didn’t know how to manage these reforms and the situation now seem to repeat,” he said.
Tesliuc expressed his indignation at the fact that only the Liberals made public the conditions they imposed at the talks. “We would like to know the conditions of the PLDM and PDM. We know only the 14 conditions of the Liberals. I think it’s time for the two parties to also reveal the positions that they do not want to change,” he stated.
